1. At the top of the main EndNote Online/Web screen select the Downloads tab. 
2. Click on Download Windows or Mac (ignore the Windows MSI link). The file should download to your computer. If the file does not download, try the following:  
   1. Right click with your mouse and choose Save link as… your download folder will open, click Save.  
   2. The file will now be downloaded but may say EndNotePlugins can’t be downloaded securely, click on the downward arrow next to the download and select Keep. 
3. Once downloaded, in Windows click on the icon to run; Mac users open from the Applications folder. 
4. In Windows, a new EndNote window will open. Wait until options appear in this, and choose Next when questions appear, select the default options and continue to click Next. Note: At the "Select Feature" screen make sure that both the Capture plugin for Internet Explorer and the Cite While You Write for Microsoft Word are enabled. Occasionally the Cite While You Write plugin has a cross next to it. Click the downward arrow and enable it.  
5. Continue to install the software using default options. Click Finish. 
6. Open Word and make sure that the EndNote tab has appeared at the top.
