You need to do three things to set yourself up in Talis:
1. Set up your user profile:
- Go to the reading list homepage.
- Click on the Log In option at top of the screen. Log in with your UoB username and password. Choose Edit Profile, add a role descriptor, and choose whether you want the profile to be public (others can see your basic details) or private. This can take seconds!
2. Download the Talis browser extension, so you can add sources to your list:
- On University computers this is already installed: find the small green Talis icon in the top right-hand corner of the Chrome browser.
- On other computers, go to the Chrome Web Store (works for both Chrome and Edge) and look for Talis. Other browsers offer similar web stores.
- Install the Talis extension. If the extension does not appear in your browser bar, use the Chrome Extensions menu to pin the Talis extension to the browser bar.
3. Find the list you want to edit on the reading list homepage by module title or code, and click on +MyLists on the top right of the list, to make it ready for you to edit, and to add it to My Lists on the reading list homepage.
We also advise that for convenience you bookmark the reading list homepage (https://bradford.rl.talis.com/index.html) in your web browser.
For further help, check the other reading list FAQs, consult our guides and video linked from the reading list homepage , or contact your subject librarian .
